About Me

Valerie Betts is proudly from West Palm Beach, Florida and a graduate of Dreyfoos School of the Arts where she majored in Communications. There, she started a company called Valography which provided video and photo services to families and businesses across Palm Beach County.

This work gained her experience and recognition which lead to her attending Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts. There she was the Director of Photography of six FSU short films and worked on countless others in a wide range of positions. Additionally, she was a teachers assistant for two advanced cinematography classes. She graduated with a BFA in Film Production and specialization in Cinematography.

Valerie now lives in Los Angeles and is a freelance filmmaker pursuing her dream of becoming a Director of Photography. She primarily works on set as a camera assistant and camera operator, but continues making video and photo content on the side for the local community.
